WICHITA FALLS' RAILROADS

• Burlington Northern & Santa Fe (BNSF) -- This was track was originally built by the Fort Worth & Denver City Railway and arrived in the city in 1882. The line runs from Fort Worth, through Wichita Falls, Childress, Amarillo, and Dalhart, to Texline and a connection with the former Colorado & Southern. It runs through town in a general southeast to northwest direction.  Trains operating toward Fort Worth utilize AAR Channel 54 (160.920 MHz) and those operating toward Amarillo utilize AAR 70 (161.160 MHz).  The Mobile Radio Access System utilizes AAR 68 (161.130 MHz).

• Wichita, Tillman & Jackson (WTJ) -- Operates trackage originally built by the Wichita Falls & Northwestern from Wichita Falls to Altus, Oklahoma. This was once the Northwestern District of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas. The railroad's name identifies the counties its operates in in Texas (Wichita) and Oklahoma (Tillman & Jackson). This line connects to the BNSF on the north side of the Wichita River and then runs in a generally north direction to the city of Burkburnett and the Red River. Trains on the WTJ utilize AAR 77 (161.265 MHz), with AAR 11 (160.275 MHz) as an alternate.

• Union Pacific (UP) -- Operates via trackage rights over the BNSF from Fort Worth to Wichita Falls, for deliveries to the WTJ, and from Fort Worth to Dalhart and a connection with the former Rock Island Golden State Route. UP trains use BNSF radio frequencies while operating on the mainline. While on the WTJ, UP trains normally use AAR 24 (160.470 MHz).
